She bounced up and down in her seat, sitting cross legged, a big huge grin across her face. She’s not nervous at all, she said. She told me how they had spent the whole night before decorating the venue with her friends and putting bouquets together with her bridesmaids. She giggled, sparkled and shined. She showed me the feather hairpieces she had made herself for her bridesmaid and we oohed and aaahed. She squealed in excitement as her mother brought her dress into the room. It was an amazing work of art that her mother had spent countless hours over, sewing and perfecting. As she dressed, assisted with her mom, I couldn’t help but was speechless over the transformation. Julie was spectacular, in her dress, birdcage veil and feather fascinator.
Upstairs, he got dressed and waited nervously. He adjusted his top hat a nudge this way and then a nudge that way. Nervously, he asked us if we were all ready for their first glance. We told him to hide as we brought his lovely bride to be to the main room by the piano and there she stood waiting for him. The whole room hushed. Her chest heaving with every breath, her entire body started shaking in anticipation as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. She turned, they exchanged kisses and she started to cry with her face buried in his.
The intimate ceremony was perfect, nestled in the tall trees and mountains in the backdrop. The colors were brilliant and the guests were dressed up perfectly for their art deco inspired wedding. He walked with his father, laughing all the way down the aisle. The clouds parted and the sun shone down on the couple at the altar. Their custom vows made the guests gasp, giggle and cry.
Their reception was gorgeous. They had truly outdone themselves, decoring the whole lodge with art deco inspired items. From the art deco coloring books to art deco picture books, the lantern centerpieces surrounded by little framed engagement pictures and the custom handmade art deco inspired place cards. Even the caketopper was custom made to match, banwell on one side and lund on the other. The night flowed with dancing, a guest who turned out to be an amazing pianist, and a ukelele player.
