Whimsical Ballroom Wedding

November 23rd, 2011

Our fantasy ballroom wedding is not complete without a dream-worthy dessert bar from Sugar & Spice. The all white dessert table was accented with pom poms and whimsical umbrellas suspended from above in pastel pinks, greens, and blues. Vintage vases, milky white platters, and tall glass jars were filled to the brim with cookies, white chocolate chips, powdered donuts, and more to create a sweet sugary spread fit for a king, or a handsome groom inside this ballroom wedding.

Sugar & Spice Specialty Desserts is based in Sacramento and can do “just about anything related to the sweeter side of food!” They really nailed the fantasy feel we wanted to portray with this styled shoot with keeping all of the sugary goodness within this perfect white color palette.

The big white balloons mimicked the shape of the candies on the bar. The varying heights on the table created a beautiful focal point for this ballroom wedding.

Golden crowns, vintage glass bottles, and tiny white birds were scattered around the dessert bar. Each of these details paired with the mirrored glass table top added to the fantasy wedding perfection at our storybook ballroom wedding.

Vintage Storybook Wedding

November 22nd, 2011

More of our vintage wedding photos from the oh so gorgeous fantasy set made possible with the wedding styling genius of Coquette Events! We had the cutest little flower girls complete with ballet flats and poofy white tutus from The Little Pea boutique.

Big white balloons filled the ballroom floor. As they slowly floated and drifted around the room it felt as if we were in a dreamy wonderland! These white hairpieces were composed of vintage cameo, jewels, and ostrich feathers, and really made for some beautiful bridal portraits and vintage wedding photos.

White layered petal pillows sat atop each golden chair at this whimsical ballroom reception.

The soft pastel floral arrangements by Botanica Floral Designs translated fantastically into our vintage wedding photos of this whimsical table. The table linens from Wildflower Linens were gorgeous and looked as if they were from a time when kings and queens coveted these luxurious heavy and metallic fabrics for their castles.

Big tulle pom poms were thrown around the bride and groom for a fun alternative to the more popular and delicate tissue paper pom poms. We love the soft layers and how the bunch make it seem as if the beautiful wedding couple is floating on a cloud of them.

It was easy to transform this ballroom into a magical fantasy wedding fit for a prince and his princess with the help of our friends from Coquette Events, Botanica Floral Designs, Wildflower Linens, and Classic Party Rentals.

Silver plated jewelry boxes were a great accent for the reception tables and our vintage wedding photos. We like to imagine there were secret treats nestled inside as if we were transported into the world of Alice and Wonderland.

The soft pastel pinks and greens were incorporated into the paper aspects of this whimsical day. We love the mix of the flourished borders and shape of the cards.

Vintage wedding photos of the couple and bridal portraits were inspired by storybooks of fairy tales and queens, like The Swan Princess. We can’t wait to share the incredible dessert bar created by Sugar & Spice in our next post!

Fantasy Wedding Photo Shoot

November 21st, 2011

This gorgeous fantasy wedding was a styled session collaboration between Coquette Events, Botanica Floral Designs, Tinywater Photography, and many of our other fabulous vendor friends (listed below)! Not only did we have lots of fun, but we were so inspired by all of the whimsical details our friends brought together to make this fantasy wedding a reality.

We were loving the braids and crystals and beads and feathers that were incorporated into all of the bride’s hairpieces throughout the day.

This centerpiece is a unique way to create the feeling of beautiful crystal chandeliers floating over each table! Green and teal glittered flowers and leaves paired with peacock feathers sat at each place setting complemented the golden plates underneath.

A fantasy wedding is not complete without a golden crown to help the bride really feel like queen for the day. All of the soft pastel colors were lovely paired with the gold accents, especially in all of the details on the tables at the ballroom.

March 2nd, 2011

I have been absolutely DYING to blog these photos from a past fashion bridal shoot I did for Bella Donna Bridal Salon in Sacramento. I love the photos!! For this session, I worked again with the great Rona Basa of Luxe Image – San Francisco wedding makeup artist. My favorite make up artist! Also with one of my great model friends, Annie Alvarez. Thank you so much to Bella Donna for lending us these amazing gowns. Rona, Annie and I had so much fun playing with all the Bella Donna Bridal gowns. And the lighting was just gorgeous that day! I love the beautiful sunsets!

Bella Donna is one of the premier Bridal Salons in Sacramento and carries the most beautiful bridal gowns. They’re located in the Arden area and everyone should totally check their gowns out. It’s simply the most beautiful bridal gowns! Wouldn’t youlove to spend the day in a Bella Donna bridal gown? They carry such gorgeous lines such as: Melissa Sweet, Vineyard, Jenny Packham, Pronovias, La Sposa, Enzoani, Blue by Enzoani, Nicole Miller,  Maggie Sottero and Bridesmaids dresses: Melissa Sweet, Belsoie,  B2, Lynn Lugo and  Bill Levkoff.

And thank you to my amazing friend, Xan Latta, for letting us photograph on her property Flyaway Farm.

The Magic of Tom Banwell

February 7th, 2011

Introducing the magical and beautiful fairytale like masks of Tom Banwell. I have been in love with Tom’s magical masks for a while now ever since I met Tom at Julie and Jon’s art deco wedding When Tom sent me a few of his masks to photograph, I was ecstatic. Once again, I teamed up with the amazing Hair and Make Up Artist, Rona Basa of LuxeImage to quickly throw a shoot together over the weekend. And I am so in love with the results. Tom’s masks are so amazing and our beautiful model, Annie, really made the fairytale feeling come to life. How beautiful would these be for the perfect wedding?

We had so much fun just playing around with different looks and Tom’s masks that the day just seem to magically slip away! And be sure to visit Tom’s Etsy shop to view the entire mask collection. Keep following our blog and you might just see more of Tom’s masks making a cameo in the future weeks. Yes, I am that in love with his masks!
