Cammi is the kind of dog that will always greet you happily and slime you with slobbery kisses when you meet her. She jumps all over me whenever I say hi to her while Kay laughs and apologizes. I first met Kay and Cammi years ago at an agility trial. The first thing Kay said when I reached over to pet Cammi was that she didn’t crop Cammi’s ears and that Cammi came like that. Since then, I’ve watched and photographed Cammi and Kay run together beautifully on agility courses, improving, getting faster and getting better through the years. Cammi has been tearing up the course, one of the fastest Boxers I have seen and trust me I’ve photographed a lot of agility Boxers. This year, Cammi even made it to the top 5 Boxers in agility in the U.S. It’s not an easy feat to accomplish. It takes preserverance, consistency and determination. Most of all, love. When you see Kay and Cammi together, you know that Kay runs Cammi for the joy of running her beloved dog. She covers Cammi with kisses and ends every single run in hugs. In Kay, you see real love for Cammi.
So imagine our devastation when we were found out that Kay had taken Cammi to the vet and found out that Cammi was diagnosed with very advanced cancer and has limited time left. There is no other way to continue this blog entry without tearing up. But I just wanted to show some photos that we took of Cammi this past week. We wanted to be sure to take some photos of Cammi for Kay.

Apollo and Cammi together doing their “pitiful” trick.

Apollo goes Woo woo

And of course, I had to show a video of Cammi and Kay on an agility course just a couple weeks before her diagnosis.
