We’re back with some more amazing photos from our recent engagement session in San Francisco with Alex and Lawrence Michael, and their photos only get better! These two energetic San Franciscans are all about style, design, and acting in the big city. With their wedding fast approaching in October, they wanted an engagement session with some urban flair set in San Francisco’s eclectic Chinatown district.

Big personalities call for some big architecture! We love the bright colors and symbols that decorate the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association building in Chinatown.

We couldn’t ask for a more inspiring backdrop! The natural gradient of this blue brick wall is so colorful and fabulous. And the expression on Alex’s face is priceless!

We can’t get enough of odd angles and geometric patterns – there are so many juxtaposing lines in these images. Not to mention that crazy sloping street! It might be the only time in the shoot that Alex and Lawrence Michael sat down and stopped moving!

Aren’t puff pastries the food of love? Perhaps in the hands of these two! Chinatown offers such a variety of specialty foods you’d never be able to try them all!

“He loves me… he loves me not….” I don’t think we have to resort to plucking petals to know how these two feel about eachother!

Don’t both Alex and Lawrence Michael look like the romantic type? They had us fooled! Alex let us in on his secret, “I’m not romantic by nature. It was only romantic because I proposed to him, when everyone would have expected the other way around. And that’s why I did it.” And how did he propose? “At a restaurant over dinner… no frills. It wasn’t a big to-do.” We think he’s more romantic than he gives himself credit for!

Alex and Lawrence Michael made it clear that they wanted to “celebrate love!” with their engagement shoot. We think it’s apparent that they celebrate it all the time!

The cutest couple is a one with unstoppable chemistry, and Alex and Lawrence Michael are the perfect example of a match made in San Francisco heaven!

Alex and Lawrence Michael made the perfect pair for this adorable San Francisco engagement shoot in Chinatown! They are totally excited to be getting married in October, and wanted to jet around San Francisco for their oh so stylish shoot. They definitely came to the shoot with ideas: “Chinatown, anywhere else urban, cool, industrial”. Considering both of them are SF locals and are in love with the city, we knew it would be a magical day.

What we ended up with was a fabulous urban shoot with loads of style, color, smiles, unique elements, and some silliness!

It’s probably lucky to kiss under a ‘lucky sign’, wouldn’t you think? We think they are already lucky in love!

Both of these boys are all smiles! The mood is so contagious, we couldn’t help but giggle all day! Their style compliments each of the guys’ personalities; the bright pops of color and unique patterns make them stand out – even against a wall of graffiti! They describe their style as “urban, retro, preppy, modern”… that’s a lot of boxes to check, but it looks like they nailed it!

These lovebirds enjoy, ” Theatre! (both spectating and performing) Dance! Design!”. It’s no wonder they met while both participating in a musical. They’re obviously used to being a spectacle!

Don’t you just love Alex’s bow-tie? And what about Lawrence Michael’s green shoes? It’s the small details that compliment their outgoing personalities. Alex is no stranger to small details, as he’s in charge of all the design elements they are incorporating into their wedding!

So sweet! This kind of special love is one-of-a-kind, and we are so happy we could share in it, even just for a day!

Chinatown was such a fun setting for this offbeat engagement shoot, and really showcased what they love most about San Francisco,

Alex and Lawrence-Michael are the most adorable couple! They are getting hitched in October and they are so excited! Don’t you just love their cute outfits and sense of style?

We’re back with more of Nick and Jason’s beautiful Los Angeles engagement photos, including some of our favorites from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. We recently photographed Nick and Jason’s gorgeous Durham Ranch wedding in Napa, designed by the super talented girls of Bash, Please! Read on for more Los Angeles engagement photos.

We love this yellow installation as a setting for Nick and Jason’s Los Angeles engagement photos. These guys suggested heading to the LACMA for some photos because they really like the Chris Burden “Urban Light” installation in the front courtyard. We made a day out of it and took time to explore with the super cute couple!

With a first date that included hunting down an okra recipe that these guys could make together, we fell in serious love with these two not long after meeting them. Killer style, a great sense of humor and real love for each other – what’s not to love about Nick and Jason? We’re so happy to finally be sharing their Los Angeles engagement photos here on our blog and we can’t wait until we can share their wedding photos, too!

One thing Los Angeles is never lacking is super cool graffiti art! As soon as we saw it, we knew we had to snap a few Los Angeles engagement photos of Nick and Jason in front of this awesome graphic wall.

We love the neutral backdrop that the Urban Light installation created for Nick and Jason’s engagement photos here. The textures and height of the lamp posts helped to create some really unique photographs!

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has red columns throughout the building that was a fun compliment to Nick and Jason’s wardrobe choice for this portion of their Los Angeles engagement session. They really liked this location for the “perfect mix of artistry and urbanity.” We couldn’t have described it better ourselves!

We love being a Los Angeles engagement photographer and Nick and Jason’s recent Bash, Please Durham Ranch wedding in Napa sparked our need to share their gorgeous Los Angeles engagement photos from the end of last year! We had so much fun playing around the diverse urban environment Los Angeles provides and can’t wait to show you how much fun we had as this beautiful couple’s Los Angeles engagement photographer.

Describing themselves as “66% urban and 33% nature”, we were happy to take a weekend away to be their Los Angeles engagement photographer. These two are so stylish and we couldn’t help but admire the details they throw into the mix, like the fun patterns on each of their ties!

We couldn’t help but explore these fun urban environments with Nick and Jason, who love hiking but also appreciate everything a city has to offer. We think their Los Angeles home sounds like the perfect place for them!

Nick and Jason love going to movies at the Arclight, trying new restaurants, and playing each other at chess! Jason taught Nick how to play and we thought it would be the perfect prop for this Los Angeles engagement session. As a Los Angeles engagement photographer, we love showing peeks into what each couple enjoys doing together, especially when it includes spending time playing games.

We were loving how perfect the sunlight was shining into their concrete cube while their game of chess was in session. The golden Los Angeles light was right on cue for this amazing couple!

We totally took some style cues from these two. Nick describes his style as preppy, but not stodgy, and inspired by J. Crew – lots of polo shirts and oxford button-ups and often a pair of Chuck Taylors. Jason is slightly edgy, fashion forward and inspired by Urban Outfitters – with lots of plaid.

As Nick and Jason’s Los Angeles engagement photographer we can’t wait to show you more of the fun we had with these guys! Stay tuned tomorrow for some awesome photos from exploring around the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, including some fun shots inside Chris Burden’s Urban Light installation in the courtyard!
