Lyndsey & Sameer: Indian Wedding Photos

March 27th, 2012

As Lyndsey and Sameer said their ‘I Do’s’ at their traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, we couldn’t wait to capture more of their Indian wedding photos here at the beautiful Viansa Winery. Their ceremony and reception took place at Northern California’s Viansa Winery, located at the entrance to the Sonoma Valley. We couldn’t think of a better location and background for this beautiful couple’s Indian wedding photos.

Rich turquoises, blues, purples, pinks, reds, and oranges were carefully curated together by Amrit of Anais Events to create Lyndsey and Sameer’s jewel toned wedding day. The bright colors really made their Indian wedding photos absolutely stunning. The floral arrangements were also created by Anais Events, and we were in serious awe of how beautiful the floating stems in water looked in those tall narrow vases.

How incredible is this henna themed cake? We love the incorporation of this henna pattern that was prominent throughout Lyndsey and Sameer’s Indian wedding photos – from her henna stained hands and feet to her gorgeous gown, and now the dessert!

The outdoor tent is a popular venue for Viansa Winery wedding receptions, and Lyndsey and Sameer made it their own personal space with all of the little details. From purple lighting to the tall arrangements on every other table, this wedding was one we didn’t want to miss!

The tables at Lyndsey and Sameer’s wedding reception were all wine themed. Perfect for this Viansa Winery wedding!

The little elephant topiaries show again! I wish we could have taken a few of these home, they’re so unique and a great quirky touch to these traditional Indian wedding photos.

Lyndsey and Sameer had their own sweetheart table set up in the middle of their wedding reception tent. The guests were treated to a candy bar stocked high with all purple candies, including tootsie pops, rock candy, jelly beans, and more!

The escort cards were displayed outside the tent perched on a golden framed mirror, creating the perfect amount of sparkle for this incredible Indian wedding celebration.

We know that Lyndsey and Sameer had a blast at their wedding reception from the smile that was pasted on their faces the entire night! We admit we couldn’t stop smiling from all of the joy and love we felt in the room!

Ending with a few peeks of Lyndsey and Sameer’s Indian wedding photos and bride and groom portraits, we can’t wait to show you a little round-up of our favorites from their big day in our next post!

Alicia Oblander - Wow what a nice wedding! Beautiful colors

Since Lyndsey and Sameer was recently featured in Smitten Mag‘s March issue, we just knew we had to share a little more from their incredible Viansa Winery Indian wedding. Lyndsey and Sameer’s big day included a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony followed by a reception inspired by their love for wine country and the couple’s Western, Indian, and Mexican cultures. Taking place at Viansa Winery tucked away in the ever gorgeous Sonoma, California and coordinated by Amrit of Anais Events and Design, it was definitely one of the most memorable and unique weddings of the year.

This outdoor space at Viansa Winery was the perfect location to showcase Lyndsey and Sameer’s Indian wedding. The wedding ceremony took place on a stage in this beautiful courtyard, and was draped in soft peach fabric curtains to frame the celebration.

There were so many unique details, including these gorgeous elephant topiaries found around both the ceremony and reception spaces at this Indian Viansa Winery wedding. We were lucky to be able to capture some beautiful photographs of the preparation process with Lyndsey, as she was adorned in makeup, jewels, and her gorgeous red wedding dress.

This photo of Sameer and his family helping him make sure his outfit was perfect is one of our favorites.

Both the bride and groom wardrobes were so ornate and absolutely stunning!

We were completely obsessed with Lyndsey’s wedding day henna. The complex designs and flourishes complimented her wedding gown perfectly.

Sameer’s family shared a quiet, contemplative moment together as they walked with him towards the festivities.

Sameer arrived at the wedding in style – with an entire parade in tow. We can’t get enough of the excitement that this jubilee contained!

Sameer walked with Lyndsey’s parents to the Viansa Winery ceremony. Everyone was dressed in traditional Indian clothing for the celebration. The textures and range of bright colors were amazing!

There were so many beautiful rituals at Lyndsey and Sameer’s traditional Hindu wedding ceremony here at Viansa Winery.

The guests enjoyed paper parasols to shade themselves from the warm wine country sun.

As the ceremony came to a close, we couldn’t wait to take more portraits of the bride and groom and then follow them to their Viansa Winery wedding reception!

A little peek at Brittany and Scott’s recent and super sweet engagement session. These guys were so fun to hang out with and we can’t wait for the wedding! xoxo

Megan & Kelvin: California Academy of Sciences Fun

March 21st, 2012

More gorgeous San Francisco wedding photography from Megan and Kelvin’s incredible California Academy of Sciences wedding! After the beautiful ceremony we snapped some fun portraits and then made our way to the turquoise and fuchsia reception designed by Jess Flood and catered by Paula LeDuc.

Just outside the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences was Megan and Kelvin’s reception space. Their bright pink table settings really stood out in their San Francisco wedding photography. The long tables made this reception into a fun family style affair.

This gorgeous science duo had the whole museum to themselves! We took advantage of the empty halls and exhibit rooms by capturing some awesome portraits during this San Francisco wedding photography session.

The purple and blue museum aquarium and lighting really reflected off of the California Academy of Sciences architecture, and contrasted nicely with the bright pink reception decor. Among Megan and Kelvin’s interests and hobbies are science, medicine, food, and doing all things unique and interesting, all of which their wedding displayed perfectly!

Tinywater loves being a little goofy and quirky with our San Francisco wedding photography, so we found a little black and white detail with these zebra photos around the California Academy of Sciences. He was definitely following Megan and Kelvin’s formal dress code!

The high two story ceilings paired with the majestic columns made this an affair to remember. This space was so grand, and perfect for celebrating Megan and Kelvin’s love for each other, the sciences, and their families.

Handwritten calligraphy was an elegant touch for the escort cards and table numbers. Another simple black and white detail we loved at this museum wedding.

Plush turquoise couches created a relaxing lounge setting for the guests to enjoy after perusing around the 400,000 square feet of pure knowledge the California Academy of Sciences has to offer.

The smaller floral arrangements were simple, but appropriate for the family style meal the bride and groom were going for. The most important aspect of this day for Megan and Kelvin was that it was special, relaxed, and that everyone enjoyed themselves and everything came together to make it all happen perfectly.

The couple opted for a dessert buffet rather than a traditional cake! We are still thinking (and drooling) over this super cute strawberry shortcake station!

Another little sweet surprise for the guests – hand delivered cones of frozen goodness. Yum.

Sneaking a kiss inside the aquarium as their wedding day came to a close. We had an amazing time at this sweet wedding, and can’t thank Megan and Kelvin enough for inviting us along to capture their San Francisco wedding photography!

Nik - Wow I like, especially, the first photograph and the one under the tree arch and the aquarium. Amazing photographs and location. I really dream to cover a wedding in similar location ;))) I would like to say that your website is awesome!!!!
prom dresses - The backdrop of underwater is whimsical ideas!!Magical and mystic!!

As we captured Megan and Kelvin’s wedding ceremony as their San Francisco wedding photographer, we couldn’t help but fall more in love with them and the California Academy of Sciences. This museum had fun surprises around every corner, and we were like kids in a candy shop with all of the unique photo opportunities we were able to find.

A shark’s mouth skeleton frame as you exchange your vows? Only at the California Academy of Sciences! Kelvin is a neuroscience researcher and Megan is a family doctor both from the bay area, so choosing this amazing venue was perfect for these science lovers. We loved working with the couple and their event coordinator, Jess Flood, as their San Francisco wedding photographer.

The texture of this living wall was so pretty and served as an awesome backdrop for Megan and Kelvin’s ceremony. This is just one out of ten rooms that the California Academy of Sciences has to offer for your festivities if you choose this San Francisco wedding venue.

The ceremony ended, but not without one more kiss down the aisle! Megan and Kelvin’s guests were as giddy as we were to spend the day with such an amazing couple in this wonderful space. We couldn’t wait to roam around the museum to take some fun portraits with the exhibits as the newlywed’s San Francisco wedding photographer!

The bright fuchsia flowers and tables popped perfectly against the California Academy of Science space. With the blue light emitting from the aquarium and the white walls of the exhibits, we were in love with Megan and Kelvin’s color choices.

These two are as romantic as the jellyfish were graceful! You can’t help but wish to be in love when you look at Megan and Kelvin together.

Monkeying around with Kelvin was one of our favorite moments as his San Francisco wedding photographer. So many possibilities in the natural history wing of the California Academy of Sciences!

We were so happy to have been chosen as Megan and Kelvin’s San Francisco wedding photographer because we loved goofing off with them during our first meeting at their Baker Beach engagement session! We had a blast with these two and hope to meet up again someday in the future.
