Hippie Wedding Inspiration

April 11th, 2012

Sadly this is our last installment of our hippie wedding feature put together by the girls at Enjoy Events Co. We’ve loved revisiting the warmth and playful images from this San Francisco inspired shoot, which took place at the city’s own Foreign Cinema. Foreign Cinema is located in the hip Mission District of San Francisco, offering a mouthwatering menu of California/Mediterranean inspired dishes. The outdoor patio was the perfect location for this hippie wedding inspiration shoot.

Freshly baked goods, fresh fruit, and fresh flowers – all staples of any hippie wedding. Our friends Megan and Emily of Enjoy Events gave a little more insight on their inspiration for the hippie wedding shoot. From Ruffled blog:

“We envisioned the concept behind this California/Hippie chic shoot when the song “San Francisco” came on the radio. You know the one, “when you’re going to Saaaaan Fraaaaaaancisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your haaaaaaaaaair.” Being based in the Bay Area we knew we wanted to create a shoot that reflected the sun, splendor and natural beauty that is California (sf in particular) and what better venue then Foreign Cinema. This venue is quintessential San Francisco with its industrial yet organic feel. We wanted to incorporate lots of CA/Hippie chic things like water color, butterflies, gladiator sandals and guitars.”

More from the Enjoy Events ladies on this beautiful hippie wedding shoot:

“We created over a hundred hand cut-out + watercolor butterflies to place on the industrial wall to evoke a romantic vibe with a twist. We collaborated with the wonderful team over at twigss on the florals to design “wildflower” like blooms with a hint of “hippie”. We collected copper vessels and wood boxes to place the flowers in. From the stunningboutonniere, bouquet, floral “head piece” and centerpieces we loved the color the flowers brought to the table! For the table top we wanted to incorporate color with turquoise pottery plates, gold brushed flatware and a hand-painted a yellow table runner. We keep with natural hues like cream, yellow, copper and blushes to extenuate the hippie chic vibe. The shoot was captured perfectly to evoke the California feel we hoped for by Tinywater!”

Loving the sweet, simple details brought by the hand painted watercolor butterflies.

We hope you are as inspired as we are from this gorgeous hippie wedding shoot. Thanks to our friends at Enjoy Events, Twigss, Foreign Cinema, Sarah Seven, and Rona Basa for being amazing vendors to work with – we can’t wait to do it again soon!
